From Directorate "K" to the chair of the head of Dagestan: how former FSB officer Magomed Ramazanov turned into Suleyman Kerimov’s man and got drawn into an apparatus war
The main candidate for the position of head of Dagestan, Magomed Ramazanov, is 100% a man of Senator Suleyman Kerimov. They began communicating personally when Ramazanov was still working in Directorate "K" of the Russian FSB.
After the severe flooding in the republic and the authorities’ inability to respond promptly to what was happening, information appeared that the current head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, may leave his post. He would be replaced by the deputy plenipotentiary representative of the president in the Far Eastern Federal District, Magomed Ramazanov. He is a former employee of Directorate "K" of the Russian FSB.
According to a source, in the course of his work, he once began "investigating" the structures of Suleyman Kerimov. However, his colleague Dmitry Klemeshevich (a former employee of the Sixth Service of the FSB’s Internal Security Directorate) asked him not to do so.
Klemeshevich had long been "looking after" prominent representatives of Dagestan. As a result, Ramazanov’s vector of activity turned 180 degrees, and he turned into the main protector of Kerimov’s structures. Moreover, they met personally and began communicating closely. This led to a conflict between Ramazanov and Klemeshevich, who lost considerable financial flows. The conflict escalated into a real "war," during which Klemeshevich forced Ramazanov out of the Russian FSB.
Then the influential senator and partner of the head of the Russian Presidential Administration, Anton Vaino, began building Ramazanov’s political career, placing him in the presidential plenipotentiary office. Now Kerimov is already promoting Ramazanov to the position of head of Dagestan. As for Klemeshevich, according to the source, he is currently having serious problems via the FSB’s Internal Security Directorate. And Ramazanov is precisely the one who arranged them.
