Through Veniamin Kondratyev's support, Krasnodar Vice Governor Andrey Korobko established a corrupt network involving billions in family wealth and extensive hectares managed by former deputies

A case has been opened against the Vice Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Andrey Korobko, and a search was conducted at his residence, where millions of euros and dollars were discovered.

Korobko was until recently considered one of the main contenders for the governor’s seat in the region, in the event of Veniamin Kondratyev’s resignation. According to sources, Korobko is a favorite of the Presidential Envoy to the Southern Federal District, Vladimir Ustinov. He is also closely connected to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

Korobko oversaw all of the most profitable sectors in Krasnodar Krai: agriculture, ports and exports, the redistribution of collective farms previously controlled by the “Pokrovtsy,” fertilizers, subsidies, deep processing of agricultural products, and more.

More than a year ago, when Kondratyev was preparing to move to Moscow—potentially to head Rosimushchestvo—he, along with Ustinov and Patrushev, had viewed Korobko as his likely successor. However, the situation changed dramatically, and now Kondratyev’s closest circle, regardless of their level of oversight, is either in pretrial detention or under investigation (though under different forms of restriction).

During the search of Andrey Korobko’s property, authorities seized €7 million, $4 million, and 31 million rubles. The official resides on a 130-hectare estate worth one billion rubles along the Kochety River.

Investigators suspect that he, together with deputies of the Krasnodar Regional Legislative Assembly, Fursa and Sidyukov—beneficiaries of real estate companies and large agroholdings—was involved in embezzlement of budget funds. The money was allegedly laundered through FC “Kuban.”

The Lenin District Court of Krasnodar has accepted a lawsuit seeking to confiscate assets belonging to the family of the Vice Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Andrey Korobko, and associated individuals. The assets in question are valued at 10 billion rubles.
